PCBN Tools (Tool Bits for Whirling)

PCBN whirling tools are ultra-hard cutting tools made from polycrystalline cubic boron nitride. These tools are designed for the hard whirling of quenched steel (HRC 45-70) ball screw raceways. The primary application is to replace traditional grinding processes, achieving precise and efficient profile machining of screw raceways for mass production requirements.

Features
  • Processing efficiency is higher than traditional turning, reaching up to 10 times.
  • PCBN tool set consists of a profile tool, contour tool, and chamfering tool for different combinations. Eccentric cutting does not require tool retraction.
  • PCBN tools are available for internal and external milling. Helix angle is adjustable for installation.
  • Milling replaces grinding with surface roughness reaching Ra 0.4 microns and processing accuracy reaching IT5-IT6.
  • Hard milling process uses dry machining without cutting fluid. This removes cleaning and cutting fluid disposal costs.
  • Different PCBN grades and edge designs are available for various materials and conditions. Coated whirling inserts are available for wear resistance and fracture resistance to maintain surface finish and consistency for tool life.
